Cold Open

Justin: And we’ll call him Romeo, fine. I don’t know why they changed his hair. I don’t know why they had. Cut.

Autumn: That’s a new songs, you know, midlife crisis. And now maybe,

Justin: yeah, it kind of fits with the rebranding story. Like. He’s like, he’s sick of being, so self-deprecating calling himself Liver Lips, like, come on. I’m more than just my lips. I’m a, I’m a lover now I’m Romeo McGrowl and he’s going to, he’s starting a new life.

Autumn: Wow.

Intro

Autumn: Hello everyone. And welcome back to the Easy Diz It podcast. I’m autumn and I am a Disney enthusiast.

Justin: I am Justin a hyper nerd travel planner. Here on Easy Diz It, we share ideas on staying happy and healthy and the parks. And we have a lot of fun. This week, we are back with highly suspect headlines. We’re going to talk about the latest 23 announcements. Let’s let’s see if autumn remembers what she saw 24 hours ago. I do.

Autumn: I will, because I was actually paying attention. I was not 10. He had a lot of client bookings. Yes. I was busy. So it [00:01:00] was like in the background for him, but I was, I was taking it in.

After that that’s right. It’s going to be everyone’s favorite part of the show, A Stumps J. So I’m back with some trivia related to holidays and Disney, and we’ll see you. What, Justin doesn’t doesn’t know.

Justin: All right. And then speaking of holidays at Disney, because this is, we’ve been talking a lot about this lately. Our last segment. Hey. Easy Diz It. We’re going to read some one-star reviews. Yes. In an attempt to make your next trip a five star trip. And those reviews will be around. Mickey’s very Merry Christmas party.

Autumn: Yes. It’s a busy time. A lot of people want to go to Disney. Around the holidays. So hopefully in reading these negative reviews, we’ll give you some. Yeah. Tips to have a positive experience when you go during the holidays.

Justin: But before all of that, we’ve got friendly transition banter with autumn. Hi. How are you doing tonight?

Autumn: I’m good. I got some new clothes in the mail. So that was exciting because I [00:02:00] got rid of a lot of clothes while. I was pregnant. Never really ended up fitting back into my other clothes. Then we moved, got rid of everything. Yeah. I had like two pair of pants. For the longest time. And so now I have to live like a nice full closet with things that make me. But bring me joy, like, you know, good pieces that bring me joy and I’m comfortable in.

Justin: I also don’t fit into my pre pregnancy clothes. Oddly enough. I really don’t. I couldn’t maybe some of that, some of the sweatpants. I’d love to joke about this. This isn’t a joke. This is true. I do not fit into the clothes that I had before. When you, before you were pregnant. Because I was running. That’s what I was running that half a marathon where I was, I

Autumn: do not. Bigger every week and Dustin was getting significantly smaller and it was very.

It’s an interesting time,

Justin: so, okay. You mentioned. Yeah. So I mentioned, you mentioned in that I mentioned, we both mentioned. Christmas time and it is September. Like, why are we talking about Christmas in September? Well, we are kind of [00:03:00] Disney people. And if you want to go to Disney world in September, I mean, in. If you want to go to. We’re in the holiday time during the holiday time, you have to plan early. Yeah. And September is kind of late, honestly, honestly. Right. Right, right. So we’re kind of planning though. Aren’t we.

Autumn: We are kind of planning and Justin’s helping a lot of clients plan for holiday chips.

Justin: Yeah, it’s hard to like book everyone. Else’s. Hotels and think about fun things for them to do and like tickets. And their holiday party tickets and make all these recommendations and not think about it myself. Right. So we did. I booked some tickets.

Autumn: Yes. So apparently we’re going, some of you might know that. The segment before we took a L another little bit of a break, because we had just moved. On the air, we decided to have a conversation about how, and by Justin, I have difficulty planning vacations, and we never resolved that. What ended up happening was just Justin just decided and booked another show to [00:04:00] Disney. Which apparently I’m doing. Yeah. No. I mean that. It’s a trip. Yeah, I’ll be excited about it. But we never, actually, we never, we never got to the root of the issues. To get back to that.

Justin: Yeah, we never get to the root of the issue. I will say I didn’t just book it though. I did float the idea.

Autumn: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Justin doesn’t float. Justin says, oh, He like, it acts like it’s floating, like here’s this thing. And then day two, it’d be like, oh, well, okay. I got these airline tickets in these things and I’m like, wasn’t this just an idea yesterday? Yes. That’s what happened? Yes. I was like, Hey,

Justin: this

Autumn: side just wanted. I want the audience to know the truth.

Justin: I appreciate that. So, So this, I think this is what I did. This was my pitch. My pitch was all right. Listen. Disney world at Christmas. And I know I never say Disney world at Christmas. But wait a second. We only go to the park. One day. And we go to animal kingdom.

And like it, like hearing me say that myself, I’m like, what are you doing? And everyone that I’ve said this to is like, What are you [00:05:00] doing, Justin? Why would you do that? And I think it’s why do you think that is? Why, why is this a silly thought for most people?

Autumn: Because most people are thinking magic kingdom. I go to Christmas. Most people are thinking more than one day. You know, Justin is all about optimizing trips. I think that’s fair to say. I got to optimize my trips. Those things. You might say is not necessarily optimizing for most people. On average. We also have talked a lot on the show about values and who you’re going with. And so for us at this time in our value and like who we’re going with. The two of us and our three and a half year old. That kind of trip. To Disney at the holiday time is what makes sense. Yeah, she can not. Withstand days in the park. We probably can’t. On days in the park. With her yet. Right.

Justin: And so going back to my pitch. Like, I’m not losing money. I’m not even gonna say that it was like fully fleshed out like that. Oh, what’s your favorite park? Oh, it’s animal kingdom. And that was the reason why I said [00:06:00] Animal Kingdom. I’m trying to, you know, you know, Make it a as close to a yes as possible. Yeah. And you didn’t say no. So yeah, I did book tickets the next day. Because listen, you can cancel plane tickets on Avello.

At any point. Yeah. I didn’t want to miss those deals. You know, you’ve got a book early.

Autumn: That’s true. Well, that was another thing we’ve talked about and it was kind of decided, but we talked about the different ways to go because that also that impacts money that impacts. Next time that impacts Well, different things, all sorts of different things. So that’s something we’ll talk more about, but anyway,

Justin: Do you remember last year? It was last year or the year before we, it was, we were doing the podcast. But we almost went to one of the holiday parties and, but it was too late because we decided. We slept on that. And then the tickets sold out. And I was, so I was afraid of that happening again. Yeah. So, yeah. So, I guess, should I just give like a thumbnail of what the trip might look like so far? Sure. All right. So we’re going to sit in a lot of this [00:07:00] is to save money. We’re going to fly out Christmas Eve. We’ve got the best, like really cheap flying out on Christmas Eve. Which is the 24th and then returning on the 28th. The Thursday, which was the cheapest date of return on yeah. Just doing one day in the parks and animal kingdom and probably doing it on Christmas day. And then following that up with a lot of Disney Springs and, and monorail. Resort travel visiting and maybe visit my mother. Maybe have her come to Disney

Autumn: world. The other possibility, which Justin doesn’t know yet, because he slips a lot of things in, oh, there’s something. Okay. Is that we might, it’s probably going to be out of the question, but possibly if we can. If we can find not crazy expensive train tickets. I get justice. And those of you who’ve been listening. \ You knew about this. But anyway,

I think it’s at least fair to say. Autumn. We can keep looking. And if it’s like in a more reasonable. Yes range. It’s probably not going to be as cheap as Avelo. [00:08:00] Yes. But if it’s reason that could be, that could be an accommodation. So for your wife,

Justin: let’s do

that here and then we’ll end up failing transition better because I have a feeling this is going to get slightly less. It’s going to turn into the hostile.

Episode. Banter. Why don’t you present your, like, why you want to do the train? Because there was probably a lot of people out here that are listening that have maybe never taken the train and we have taken the train down there. Or, and would like to know more about it. And then I’ll briefly just state. Oh, my, he doesn’t like it. Yeah, but briefly I’ll be brief. You go for it.

Autumn: Well, I think it’s a briefing. So two reasons. One is I think flying is awesome, but it also. It gives me a great deal of anxiety, like in, at the same time. Like, I’ll be like, wow, I’m looking out of the window. And this is amazing. And look what I can see. And I can’t get out of this plane if I need to. And it causes my anxiety,

Justin: which may not be the way you’d want to start an end. Correct.

Autumn: And it’s [00:09:00] not like, I’m not saying I’m never going to do it again, but you know, in, in generally it’s like the first bit. Yeah. And then I, it evens out in I’m. Okay. We call that

Justin: in the biz. Take off.

Autumn: We call that tape off.

Justin: I’m a travel agent. I don’t. Yeah.

Autumn: So I. So, so there there’s there’s part of it. The second part is I just, since I was little. Similar to Walt. I just, I love like there’s something very cool and magical about a train. And And I don’t know. I just, I do, I really do outside of anxiety with flying. I do like appreciate the train for what it is, and I think it would be cool. And I do think. Darwyn would like it. I see why, or there might be some hesitance in bringing in a three-year old mountain train, but I also think, oh, we can’t do it.

Justin: So in summary, it’s what Walt would have wanted. I mean.

Autumn: He was a train guy. We all know. All right. Okay. And so those are my, those are my two reasons. And I guess going back to that, it’s like, again, I’m not saying I was like, I’m not, [00:10:00] not going to get out of the plane again or anything like that. I just like, sometimes it would be nice because it does take, and any of you listening that having anxiety or had panic attacks that is the most energy, there is no physical thing. I’ve given birth that takes the amount of energy that it does to literally to like talk your brain and your amygdala from over firing. That is the Mo I mean, it takes. And so that’s where it’s like, oh, this is vacation and it’s fine. And then like, once we’re there, we’re doing the thing, but it’s like leaving, which is also supposed to be fun and thinking about what you’re doing and going takes, like, I cannot explain to you. Physical energy. Yeah, that is it’s just draining. Yeah. And so that’s where it’s like sometimes every once in a while, can we do a chip where I can have a break from having to, I can do it. And I do it, but

Justin: yeah, no, and, and I’m not. So yeah. What trains I’ll start with trains. I think I don’t want to be on a train for 24 hours. Thanks to be in control for the rest of my life. [00:11:00] I, and, and, and honestly, it was really just the sleeping, like I can do. I’ll do 12 hours on a train. Yeah. Jeremy that’s no problem is the sleeping thing in coach was terrible. So we looked at the roomettes and they’re so expensive and you can’t even book them for three online. You have to call. I heard I haven’t done that yet, but if you want to put three people in a roommate, you have to book. And I mean, our daughter’s three, three and a half. It’ll be fine. But even those super expensive for talking about. Over a grand each way. And for that. So, so my, I think if we don’t fly, I’ll drive, I’ll just drink a bunch of coffee.

Autumn: We’ve G we’ve twice.

Justin: Didn’t we. I don’t like that either. Yeah, I don’t like that

Autumn: either. It was just so long. It felt like twice.

Justin: At least when, when Darwyn screams in the car, it’s just us. Like, I feel guilty. I feel like, but I don’t think. The

Autumn: train is dominant, is going to love the train and everyone’s going to yeah, love Darwyn and she’s not going to have a fit it’s constant. They

Justin: will love. For the first hour and a half to two hours. [00:12:00]

Because if you, she’s going to say hi, and they’re going to say hi and give her a smile. And she’s going to do that. If we need for this.

Autumn: We need to do like music in the video thing. We can also do that. You know what I’m saying? Just like we would with a car in the car, but I still think that’s going to be much better than a car and it’s not going to have the tax that driving is,

Justin: has the physical tax. It is, and it is much safer. Driving is not safe, especially prolonged. At least safe. Yeah. Yeah. That’s true. That’s true. I

Autumn: remind myself. This is true when I’m on the plane. You’re actually much safer in here than. Got. You are like over and over again.

Justin: So w we we’ll we’ll talk more about this. We’ll figure this out, how we’re going to get down there, but it’s pretty certainly are getting down there. I mean, we’re not in our 30 day window, everything’s still fully refundable,

Autumn: but yeah, no. No, I think we go, I think it might then. And maybe, maybe Justin, I could get, get him to, to gain some wiggle room.

Justin: Elbow right now. So you can’t see

Autumn: this. But how we get down there just cause I haven’t, we haven’t. No. Yeah,

Justin: we, I did, we did [00:13:00] look at the train and it is very cost prohibitive, but I will continue to look at the train. I will continue to learn.

Autumn: Let me see what the. We met situation is maybe on the date, the specific days, like. It was last time. It could be really cheap because most people aren’t traveling. I will

Justin: resolve and I’ll report back to you for the next Easy Diz It podcast. Okay. We’ll have some real numbers for you. Sorry. Sorry

Autumn: guys. That was a lot of banter. And

Justin: it didn’t get hostile. There was, there was just some light nudging that’s. That’s all. I wasn’t bad at all. No one got hit. You’re still married. Yes, but we’re going to Disney world. I don’t think we need to say more about it. I mean, port Orleans,

Autumn: Riverside, I’m excited about that. I would just like to be excited about it with a little less anxiety. Maybe we’ll talk

Justin: excitement. I.

Autumn: Well, then I would be very excited.

Justin: When we cause we’re going to do the Hey Easy Diz at the end of the show. We’ll talk more maybe about some of our plans as far as just what we’ve seen in researching it because. I’m pretty excited about if you, if you laughed, when I said animal kingdom at Christmas, Just wait, just wait. Cause this, this sounds pretty cool. That’s pretty cool. Yeah. All [00:14:00] right. See you soon.

Highly Suspect Headlines

Justin: Welcome back everybody. Are we ready for it? I was, that was harsh. Welcome back. Welcome back everybody. Are you ready? Autumn did start with highly suspect headlines.

Autumn: I’m feeling very positive about nailing these headlines.

Justin: Well, highly suspect headlines. That’s how we do news here on the Easy Diz podcast. I’m going to read some headlines and autumn has to say if they’re true or false in all of these headlines today, come out of the D23 parks. Segment from yesterday. Like the Three convention, you know, they have down there in Orlando, they made some announcements. I’m going to give some of the headlines from these announcements and autumn who watched the announcements with me is going to have to determine if they are true or false.

Autumn: And I watch them intently by myself.

Justin: Like you mentioned earlier, I was doing travel planning stuff and I kept saying, wait, what did they say? So some of these were actually a surprise for me.

Autumn: And I believe it. I remember [00:15:00] at the end of the day yesterday, you were like, oh, sometimes I’m that? I’m like, yeah, Justin, remember it. And I was actually for once giving Justin details.

Justin: Yeah, I probably would’ve lost if you had done highly suspect headlines this week. Yeah. All right, you ready? For the first one? I’ve got quite a few here. Number one, magic kingdom, getting a new pirates of the Caribbean themed bar.

Autumn: Themed bar bar. Incorrect

Justin: This is true. I know I missed it. Yes.

Autumn: The change in the parrot and their changing Jack

Justin: They showed some art, some what do you call it? The art before. They used something. I can’t think of the name of it. Concept. I’m wrong concept. I know this is the exciting one. They must’ve mumbled no, listen. So the concept art with the parrot, that was the bar. So I just tuned in when they said something about a talking parrot. But no, there’s going to be a bar. Themed for pirates. At, you know, in that area, adventure land and Disney world. Oh, cool. A pirate bar. I’m so excited for a pirate [00:16:00] bar.

Autumn: No, that will be that. That’s going to be really cool. I mean, that ride is just huge.

Justin: Yeah. And so, I mean, like alcohol is coming into magic kingdom bit by bit, you know, it’s here and there, you know, Slowly dripping in yet. It’s in there. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, I’m super excited about this.

Autumn: It makes sense in that area. It makes sense. When I think about the other, you have got the Tiki lounge, jungle cruise. It’s kind of like, that makes sense that you’d have a bar

Justin: there. And what I mean, pirates drink, man. This is what they do grog. Rum. Yeah. And all that good stuff. And it

Autumn: will be, cause you don’t have to go to Hollywood, just hollywood studios now to get a good drink

Justin: funny you bring up hollywood studios because this reminded me of something. Something i heard from a good old jim hill and probably from the podcast the ride people as well That when they were building the hollywood tower of terror yeah your original plans had a bar At the end

Autumn: I think i remember you saying that Yeah that’s right

Justin: [00:17:00] Tower of terror themed bar like how cool

Autumn: is that That’d be cool. It’s just like a march

Justin: place yes So i mean i hope they do it up fully i mean even if it’s chintzy and and not fully fleshed out pirate world it’ll be cool but they could do something So cool with this place

Autumn: This is like a new for all the fans right on the rides and the movies This is like this is like an add on you know what i mean So i think it can’t be i think they think it’s gotta be to the level of star wars galaxy’s edge Oh that would be awesome I think

Justin: it’s going to be yeah if they went to like Ooga’s canteen cantina level that would be great

Autumn: And i know too there’s only so much space in magic kingdom Yeah. i think it makes sense that they got to do it out

Justin: All right. So I think we both agree that that could be pretty cool. I do have one small issue with this. So if tower terror drink, I feel like that’s a classy. I’m going to have a martini. It’d be a real classy kind of situation. I feel like there are few themes that would [00:18:00] make me drink. More aggressively than a pirate theme. Like I am swinging that mug. I’ve got a, I want the rum. I want to dangle my naked toes over something. Do you know what I mean? Like I want to be hanging off something if I’m pirate drunk. So. You got to watch.

Autumn: The theming, getting people getting into the theming too much. Exactly. R. Yeah, exactly. Yes. And they thought about that. They’ve been, so they’re pretty, yeah. They’re going to have. The family friendly things. So Yeah,

Justin: I’m saying specific to me, like you’re going to have to watch me as what I’m saying.

Autumn: No, but I don’t think. I think you are not like. Anywhere even near like serious drinkers, you. But there’s going to

Justin: be plenty of people that, but autumn, I’m telling you right now. Please just keep an eye on me. Okay. If you see me in a pirate bar. Yeah.

Autumn: Just stay with me. Yeah.

Justin: Keep it to one or two. [00:19:00] A little rum, a little grog, and that’s much more

Autumn: love. Yeah, no, that’s a good point. Yeah. I appreciate it. I appreciate.

Justin: You ready for the next hot the next. Wrong. Alright, next one. Moana getting a meet and greet next to the journey of water exhibit in Epcot. True. This is true.

So Moana who our daughter loves. Yes. Is getting her own. Meet and greet right next to the journey of water. And that’s going to open journey of water is opening officially October 16th. Yep. Yeah. It’s in the previous now.

Autumn: We were thinking that Moana might be. An animal kingdom. Sure.

Justin: Yeah, I know. So this kind of calls that into question because she is an animal kingdom right now. She has a meet and greet in discovery island. And that was one of the big things, because that’s our daughter’s absolute favorite. So when it comes to animal, came to making a choice, that was a huge plus for animal kingdom. Right. Exactly. Yeah. So hopefully they’ll do both. I don’t know. Cause if we go in [00:20:00] December, they could. Right. Here’s the thing.

Autumn: Yeah. Because other characters you can meet and other parks. Yeah. Generally going to see Cinderella and animal kingdom, but you could

Justin: not write. I mean Mickey and Minnie are everywhere. The fab five are everywhere. Right? Right. I don’t, I don’t know. I’m not hopeful for it, but I wish.

Autumn: Maybe like the princesses, they don’t go to Hollywood studios.

Justin: There are princesses. There’s not a ton of princesses. I think there’s one or two opportunities. You know, I’m Fantasmic you know, you got it, but no. Yeah,

Autumn: no, they might be doing something else. Maybe they, I assume they’re going in a different direction then. Okay, but this is cool because Epcot has been slowly. Th like a lot of change, but it’s like kind of cottony. Yeah, it’s happening slowly. So I think that’s going to be a huge draw. I like it. Milan is so big. Everyone’s going to Epcot just even for that. And then the food. Yep.

Justin: Are you ready for the next headline? I am Zootopia show is being developed for the tree of life theater. True. This is true. [00:21:00] Yes. So you knew this. I knew this. So when I, when I w I heard from this announcement is that they were going to do a tree of life awakenings with Zootopia. That’s all I saw and maybe they’re doing that too. But no, there actually, the bug’s life is getting replaced with oh, that’s

Autumn: where it’s going to be. Yeah, they can see that they should say like, oh, this is going to go, we’re getting rid of, but they didn’t say that at all. Well,

Justin: that’s, that’s how it’s getting reported by blogs when I was watching it or. Watching it. I just thought they were doing a tree of life awakening themed after. Illumination shell. They did. Okay. They did well, all the blogs are reporting it and I’ll do some more digging, maybe Easy Diz bot can help with this. But that the bug’s life is getting replaced with this utopia show.

Oh,

Easy Diz Bot: I’ve retrieved some audio from the D23 for you. Here is Bruce Vaughn, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Imagineering, discussing the change.

For example, last year you talked about the possibility of bringing Zootopia to the park.

Now we’re [00:22:00] still excited about that idea, only now we’re exploring a new location to bring this story to life. And with that, I’m happy to share here, for the first time, We’re creating a new show for the tree of life, based on Zootopia. Our current concept is filled with humor and action, taking you into the different biomes you see in the film, and some you have yet to see yet.

We’ll meet Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and my favorite, a fantastic Clohauser animatronic. It’s gonna be great. Well, I, you know, like, I get to play with you guys all the time on this, and I’ve loved what I’ve seen so far. I think you guys are gonna love it, but… If Zootopia is going to tree a life, why don’t you share with

Easy Diz Bot: So not super clear, I understand why you might be mistaken in thinking it was a tree of life awakening, especially with the visual displayed while Bruce was talking, and especially given the limited inferential ability of Justin’s organic processors.

But Bruce specifically mentioned an animatronic, so [00:23:00] safe bet it’s a new show type attraction inside the tree of life.

All.

Autumn: I know I missed the first one, but I was listening intently during this because we were really excited and we know that in Shanghai, There’s a whole Zootopia ride. Yes. We were excited that that might be an announcement and it wasn’t. So they were like, oh no, we’re just going to aluminate. We’re going to do a show on the tree of life. And we’ve got other plans

Justin: and that led to really cool announcements because I think that we thought that the dinosaur was going to get replaced by Zootopia ride, which would have been okay in. Cool.

Autumn: Yes. It would have made sense. It would have been it’s a huge piece of the park that needs to go.

Justin: I love the dinosaur ride. I love the dinosaur ride. The rest of it. I’m glad it was there. They can do better. They. I can do

Autumn: better. It just when you’re there, you’re like, this is not Disney.

Justin: It does take the hands out. It does take you out of it. But they did say for it. So they’re not going to do Zootopia in that area. They’re going to do south America.

Autumn: South America, which is like very barely [00:24:00] represented. Yeah. Mexico has one. And that’s it. Yep. That’s it like anywhere in the park. And so this is going to be, and I’ve been saying this for awhile and what are they going to having an add countries to the world showcase what’s the, so at least they are working on expanding. I’m

Justin: so excited. Africa, you’ve got Asia. Let’s do south America. There’s tons of adventure. And so in south America, including Indiana Jones. Yes. Now I I’m a huge dinosaur.

Yup. Yup. But let’s get back to. But let’s get back to Indy here. Because. The dinosaur ride. It has the exact same track layout. As Indiana Jones spectacular not mean the Indiana Jones ride in a Disneyland. And I’m not a big fan of just cloning rides from one park to the other, but this is a ride where I would be happy to see a clone because that ride is so good. It is so good. And I think if they’re going to do it, this bar.

Autumn: The exact same ride did it used to be [00:25:00] dinosaur

Justin: in Disneyland? It’s well-known. Indiana Jones came out first. And they just, when they built it in. Florida, I guess it was a cost savings manager. We’re just gonna use the exact same. We have these plans. We have, and they just changed the story beats. So instead of Indiana Jones, temple stuff, it’s dinosaurs. But yep. Same ride vehicles, same track layout. So they could do a Hindi clone right there. I think they’ll do something different just cause there’s so much time has been between the two. There’s been more indie movies. I think they’ll do something different, but I’m super excited.

Autumn: The idea is that whole retro. Diana land is going to become south America. Totally. Yeah. And different elements in that. Yeah.

Justin: And Contel like, you’re saying. Like a SITA. That could be cool if they were to do like what they did with tales with Belle. Which a lot of, we don’t get a lot of love. I know so fun.

Autumn: That was I, when I did that, that was one of the things I was like, Justin, I’m really glad you put this on. Because I would’ve [00:26:00] bypassed it probably even. We just read it. That was really awesome. And I just feel like it might be underrated and maybe I think it is, I. I would straight up Disney. Like that that’s not like a ride, but like, whoa, I am in. Yeah. And another

Justin: place. So in case you haven’t heard of it, it’s enchanted tales with ballots in the magic kingdom. It’s a half walk through room to room, walk through. And half meet and greet. Like you get to meet bell. And if you’re a kid that likes beauty and the beast. On it’s fun. There’s audience participation. There’s a story which I

Autumn: missed entirely. And one of them he was picked. Yes.

Justin: Which is cool. But you also miss out a lot. It’s one of the sacrifices you have to make as a night of the. Oh, yeah. Of the Royal guard. Yes. You don’t get to see the

Autumn: show as well. You just stand next to a really beautiful princess.

Justin: Yeah. Hey, I got a job to do, and I’m going to do it. Okay. All right, so that is, so you got that one, right? Nice job there too. So utopia is coming. See you later bugs. No more.

Autumn: We don’t know they did. They I’m telling you, they did [00:27:00] not say that it was replacing a bug’s

Justin: life. Well, yeah, they wouldn’t say that they wouldn’t say the bugs around. They would say, you know, coming to the tree of life, a news story, you know, they would. Say see you later.

Autumn: Yeah. Let me look up. I want it to be listened to you. Think we can listen to the stream. We can find it. Because I want to pull that up and find their wording because I was pretty sure it was just like a new illumination on

Justin: yeah. Maybe it was both and we just missed the first part. That

Autumn: could be too. But I might be that excited about. Zootopia getting, because that movie is just awesome. Yeah. And my thought is maybe it just didn’t. There are a lot of like heavy and aspects that I think are human, but people might think are political. And I could also see how, like, it might not gain that much. In America. And it did and other places. Yeah. It’s not big enough to get it. I definitely. I like watching that movie half of America. Doesn’t like that movie. Yeah.

Justin: Yeah. No. It’s true. America says, you know, that movie’s brainwashed. Correct. It’s critical race theory. Animated. Correct. And just have, they’re just like, oh, people should love each [00:28:00] other. Yeah, that sounds good. That sounds great.

And

Autumn: at the animals. No. Indiana Jones.

Justin: Well, I so. Which is great. I think south America fits better with the rest of the theme of the park. Pandora kind of makes sense. Cause it’s another world, you know? Well, so

Autumn: here’s the other thing because of this. This isn’t so much. And I had this conversation at first because he was trying to understand. Y, I didn’t love some of the parts of Disney that he loves and loved other parts. And it was that. Animal kingdom in particular is very realistic. Meaning. Meaning when you are in each space, each world that you’re in is real. It’s not supposed to be like kitschy except for dyno land USA. Correct. Cause that’s just how. Updated. But you know, like opposite of magic kingdom. Okay. It’s theme, but it’s like, obviously. I don’t know, it’s more cartoony, I guess. Is the way. And so Zootopia, such an awesome, beautiful movie, I think would be good. But I get where like, from an Imagineers point of view, That does not fit. Yeah, [00:29:00] it doesn’t fit the, the real miss, you know, like making this another country, like you already have an Africa and like having it be like you’re living. And you’re walking on the streets of Columbia or wherever it is that that is a better

Justin: hundred percent. And I think if you look at like the original point behind or the original ethos of animal kingdom, one of the main pillars is like conservation. And that’s true. Zootopia has animals in it, but it’s really, it’s human allegory. It’s about humans. It’s humans, but starring animals. Yes. So it’s, doesn’t, I mean, I think you could squeeze it in like tree of life. It kind of makes sense. It’s fine. But like to dedicate a whole land to it. I think it just, it makes more sense to tell. Wildlife story, a different way.

Autumn: Mm. Mm. Oh, I see. Yeah. Look, I got goosebumps talking about it. Wow.

Justin: This podcast gives goosebumps. If you’ve got goosebumps at home, send us. Write us a five star review on iTunes. And say it gave me goosebumps. It was so good. All right. Ready for the last [00:30:00] one. Last headline. Yes. I gotta be honest. This one. I’m just going to read it and then we’ll just, we’ll just handle the fallout. Liver Lips McGrowl to be removed from country bear Jamboree.

Autumn: I listened to that. That was not in the, that was not in the 23. Announcement. It was not, they did not announce that. They said that it’s getting an update. It is getting an update. It’s going to be some new songs. Audio. We had a preview of some of the songs and it was important to Justin that there was still the bare Twain. I had the

Justin: twins. Yes. Big Al. Yeah, because they said they’re going to change out all the tracks and, but they didn’t play that. All of them. Yeah. Yes. The blood on the blood, on the saddle song. It’s very important to me. That’s a stain. Even if the song doesn’t stay, they just need to have like a very awkward moment like that. Give me another awkward song. I’m fine, but just make everyone uncomfortable for 30 seconds. And I’m happy.

Autumn: And I was just glad to hear that it’s. [00:31:00] But they’re saying it, it really is a favorite. Then it hasn’t gone because it isn’t in. I love that. And I love that other people still love it.

Justin: So Liver Lips McGrowl to be removed from the country. Bear Jamboree.

Autumn: I feel like I, part of you. It feels like it has to be, yes, because you just said we can have a fallout about this, but. Why would they remove him?

He’s the bear that everybody loves.

Justin: He’s the bear that I love and I’ve done many.

Autumn: I’m going to say that’s false. I don’t think they’re taking a bet. I think that would be a big

Justin: change.

I’m sorry. This is true. No, it’s not, this is true,

Autumn: Justin. Now it’s two seconds later. I’m.

Justin: They did it. Did you hear this? So you, you remember how they said they, everyone was getting this new poster of the new attraction. Yeah. If you look at the poster for the new attraction, All the bears are there. Except Liver Lips McGrowl all taken up. Well in, in [00:32:00] place of Liver Lips, McGrowl. Someone who looks just like Liver Lips, McGrowl. Except he has like a bouffant, a blond bouffant. He’s got the same lips and his name is Romeo McGrowl. So they’re either. He’s either rebranding himself, maybe Liver Lips is rebranding himself. He got new haircut. He got some Rogaine. And he’s rebranding himself as Romeo we are all so, and he does have like a Romeo, he’s a rocker. He’s kind of like a Mick Jagger. The lifts are kind of a reference to that.

Autumn: He’s a little sexy. Exactly. He was. Human. He’d be an old, sexy bear. Exactly.

Justin: Exactly. So. So he is now Romeo, Mick Raul, or maybe it’s his cousin.

Autumn: But do this, like. Do a big change, but then get not, it’s like in the detail.

Justin: So I did some Googling. And apparently Liver Lips has been used as a racial slur historically.

Liver Liver Lips, eyes. I’ve not heard it used in that context for African-Americans. Large [00:33:00] dark.

Autumn: I didn’t notice. Not. Yeah, different lips.

Justin: Yeah. I don’t think it may be. It’s not like we’re from new England. Maybe it’s not a particularly new England thing, but I did look

Autumn: it. A lot of other lip and news things for African-Americans, but not yet. Same thing would use. Yeah.

Justin: And I w I think it has also been used for Jewish people as well, and also like non African-American or Jewish people. But, but I think a lot of the usage was in that area. Oh, I actually looked it up. There’s a great resource. It’s called greens. Dictionary of link. I’ll show you right here. It’s dictionary of slang kind of shows what they do is they go back in different publications and use and look at where different slang . Terms have been documented. So here going all the way back to 1894 what was this? This is the Wichita daily Eagle in this city among the colored people. There is a man called liver lip Jack. So this isn’t a derogatory use there, but yeah, I, and I mean, if you read through it, you’ll see some of these are not very nice.

Autumn: Look, it’s coming up. I’m [00:34:00] didn’t know that.

Justin: So I guess it’s just Disney saying, like, here’s the thing that maybe not everyone’s talking about now.

Autumn: But because it’s not that. People might see it, but not know that bear’s name. It’s really easy unless you’re a super fan. You’re not going to write.

Justin: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I just know the name. When I met him.

Autumn: I’m like, who is this? All of this, get Tory terms for African-Americans

Justin: and apparently. And that’s what we hear here. The Easy Diz podcast we’re teaching you new derogatory term.

Autumn: Wow. So. No. I mean, Disney’s had an ad, a real focus on writing wrong things in regards to racism and inequity. So it makes sense that that was like, you know to change it.

Justin: And we’ll call him Romeo fine I don’t know why they changed his hair.

I’m a, I’m a lover now I’m [00:35:00] Romeo McGrowl and he’s going to, he’s starting a new life.

Autumn: Wow. I just. Okay. Well, okay, so this is, this is. I thought it was sad, but now I’m like, it’s him. He’s getting a new name. Yeah,

Justin: it’s him. It’s probably him. Yeah. It’s still him. We’ll find out. I’m excited. I’m intrigued now. This is

Autumn: all their last names are McGrowl, right? Yeah. He’s the only. Yeah. I’m not changing the last name. Yeah. Telling you that.

Justin: I just hope they give it a fun backstory. That’s all I’m asking. I want to, I like the, I like the reinventing midlife crisis. I’m room. Yeah, maybe got a new agent. Who knows that could be. 1950. I’m like Romeo is in now. It’s 2020.

Autumn: I so, so hopefully y’all will get to the parks and get to get to see. Not Liver Lips

Justin: for Romeo Romeo McGrowl. All right. All them. When we come back, what are we up to? What are we doing?

Autumn: A Stumps J where I want to give Justin some trivia. [00:36:00] Pertaining to Disney in the holidays and we’ll see how he does what he knows. All right.

Justin: Well, I’ve been studying, so hopefully I’ll do well. All right, stick around. We’ll be right back.

A Stumps J

Autumn: Alrighty. Everyone welcome back. It is now time for A Stumps J and it has been a while. So Justin, are you ready? Ready. Okay. So first one. It’s a little, a little bit heavy this time. So just giving you that warmup dates.

Justin: Like we’re going

Autumn: through some dates, specific dates. In this. Chunk

Justin: of. I was always the worst at this at school. And then I give you that

Autumn: because you’ve been doing a lot of it’s about holidays. So like, you probably know these dates, we’ve been doing a lot of holiday.

Justin: Dates don’t stick in my brain very well. Maybe that’s not a great thing to say as a travel agent. I feel like you’re going on vacation.

Autumn: Thank goodness for it. Google calendars.

Justin: Yeah, I have calendars

Autumn: and multiple calendar. All right, Justin. Walt Disney world officially kicks off Christmas on what [00:37:00] date this year.

Justin: Well, it’s always, I think it’s like always November 1st. Isn’t it? It’s right after Halloween.

In terms of like the Christmas party, I know that’s not the case, but like they start decorating for Christmas the day after a Halloween, the night of. Yeah, decorations.

Autumn: So they, yes, but when, when is it like everything, like when you go, Hmm. It’s Christmas. It’s not the day after Oliver, the first hint.

Justin: Christmas party. They would have to be done by then. Saying, I believe it is the ninth. If I’m, if I’m sorry. Or the Telco’s incorrect. I’m so close. Oh, well, I’m going to say the knife. November

Autumn: 11th. Oh, November 11th. But no,

Justin: but the first party is on the ninth. That’s

Autumn: crazy. It says, oh yeah. Disney tourist blog.

Justin: Oh yeah. That’s very reliable. Very good.

Autumn: Yeah. Yeah. Does. I was like, no Christmas. Officially November 11th. So meaning that is when, like, if you go, if you go now [00:38:00] between November 11th and December 31st. Yup. It will be

Justin: Christmas. So I’m going Christmas. I will be there on this, starting on the 10th. I’ll be there on the 10th and I could. Which is cool. So you’re going to see. Over stuff. Well, the, it will be fully changed by then. I could have seen, I could still buy tickets. There are still tickets available for the 11th and I believe that is, but. Because the way it works and we’ll talk about more later. I just, I didn’t want to waste the money I may still, but so is okay. Continue.

Autumn: Continue. So the answer to that is November 11th, 2023. Okay. All right. You ready for the second one? Okay. Now there’s one exception to that date. There’s one thing that doesn’t kick off on the 11th that kicks off afternoon, November 11th, and that isn’t Epcot. What is that? What is this event?

Justin: Oh, well, the Epcot has the festival of the holidays. Correct. Yeah. Correct.

Autumn: So the festival of the holidays and that runs from November 24th to December 30th. So all those things, right. From November 11th [00:39:00] except the festival of the holidays, which is an app. Epcot. And that starts a little later the 24th. So that’s Thanksgiving.

Justin: So do you have any more info on the festival of the holidays? What’s that all

Autumn: about? I have not much info on that as well.

Justin: We’re gonna talk about it. It’s just another festival. So it’s like, you know how they have food and wine, you can get food and drinks. I shouldn’t say it’s just another festival, but you can get, there are holiday themed food and drinks as well as entertainment. And it also has the candlelight processional, which is nice. People love that it’s their reading of the story of Jesus, the birth of Jesus, and they have different celebrities do it every year.

Autumn: Very cool. Yeah. All right, you ready for number three? I’m ready when you already kind of answer Justin.

Justin: Candlelight Processional. No.

Autumn: Mickey. Mickey’s very Merry Christmas party, 2023. Begins on what date? November

Justin: 9th, Korea. So I was right. You weren’t correct. So,

Autumn: okay.

Justin: But they’re saying back this up. Yeah. So that means that is a Mickey’s very Merry Christmas party starts [00:40:00] before.

Autumn: It does Christmas start? They’re saying. Wow. Okay. Is the 11th. So I think that is maybe an event that starts, but everything isn’t Christmas turned over by that day. Okay.

Justin: So I, so I was right on the dates, correct. It’s just my view of what makes sense in this world was incorrect. Absolutely. Okay. Cool.

Autumn: Justin, do you want to talk a little bit about very Merry Christmas? What that is?

Justin: Can we talk about one thing? How I can not remember or say the name you slowed a little bit too.

Autumn: It. It is Mickey’s very Merry Christmas. It doesn’t doesn’t

Justin: stick my head. Mickey’s very Merry Christmas party does not stick in my head. It’s not too much along. Like, I couldn’t tell you ma Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party, I think. Yeah, but it took me so long to, I don’t know why. Yeah, it’s. Something wrong with my brain. So yeah, I mean, I didn’t tend to talk about it more on our next segment, but it’s, you know, it’s the extra ticket you can buy. On select nights in the holiday season, where the park, you have to have a ticket to get into the park at that time. And there’s a lot of [00:41:00] different Christmas things going

Autumn: on. Sounds good. And we’ll stay tuned to hear more about that. Yeah. Are you ready for the last step? I’m ready for the last time. All right. So Justin, for Christmas, 2023, there was a new party occurring at Hollywood studios. That’s the name of this party. And can you tell us about it?

Justin: Oh yes. This is a softball. So this one, I can remember the name of this. One’s stuck in my head, like glue. It’s a Hollywood studios, jolly wood nights. Yes. Yeah. And can I, I

Autumn: mean, can you talk a little bit about how and when it will occur?

Justin: I think it’s, it’s not it’s it’s around. I don’t have the exact date ranges, but it’s about the same date ranges. As Mickey’s very Merry Christmas, not so scary party. But what’s really cool about it in my head because you know me, I’m a, I’m a Muppets fan is that there is going to be a show and it’s a, it’s hosted by Kermit and miss piggy. Yeah.

Autumn: Oh, is that going to be happening when we go?

Justin: No. Oh, no, I checked both of the shows and before we arrive, we [00:42:00] arrive on the 24th and I think the shows ended on the 20th or close to.

Autumn: Second 24th. You’re right. Yeah. Yeah. It’s November 11th to the 20th and it is select dates. It’s not like every night, like. Some of the other things. No. Oh, maybe we leave a little earlier. I don’t know.

Justin: Yeah, no. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We got to work. You’ve.

Autumn: I’ll be out. Okay.

So this is very cool. So yeah, so this, this Jollywood, this is a new party. There’ll be a lot of glitzy glamour. There’s going to be live bands. At return of the jingle bells, jingle ban. I don’t know what that is.

Justin: Fantastic.

Autumn: Right. I read some nice job on A Stumps J thank you. I’m good today.

Justin: I’m excited for the jolly wood. I, I do see is I, you know, talking to some of my clients that have the opportunity to do both there’s like it is expensive ticket. And like, if you know what Mickey’s very Merry is like, you know, it’s awesome. It’s hard. I think it’d be a hard choice. Like, do you [00:43:00] want the new thing or do you want the tried and true thing, you know?

Autumn: I would have to see, I would want to get a little more details on what very married. Hollywood so far, it seems like jolly would, might be a little more my thing than the bad. Maybe it seems like jolly was a little more, I doubt is the F. It’s the feeling I get. Yeah. It’s like an. The other things that are a little more kids. Yeah. Towards kids.

Justin: Tracks with like the parks in general, too. That tracks. Yeah.

Autumn: I wanna do this Jollywood, when will you be able to go when you go in November? Because it’s the 11th. I

Justin: could, I could do the Mickey’s party. I could do. I believe there’s a jolly what I could do. I don’t think I will.

Autumn: You can do Mickey one night, Jollywood another night.

Justin: Our itinerary, it’s a training weekend. So our itinerary isn’t fully fleshed out yet. I’m going to learn about some universal resorts as well. And I don’t want to be in a position where I have a ticket somewhere and it turns out they’re like, Hey, why don’t you come? Here’s a free ticket to somewhere else. Do you know what I mean? So I’m just going to go. Okay. Yeah. What happens happens. And [00:44:00] if I don’t get anything for free, then I’ll just continue to tour resorts and learn more information for my travel clients. Sounds good.

Autumn: All right. So now we’re getting ready to head into our last and very infamous segment. Hey. Easy Diz It. So stay tuned for

Justin: that. So, yeah, we’re going to take a couple deep breaths. Relax. And we’ll be right back.

Hey Hey, Easy Diz It

Justin: All right. Welcome back, everybody. Welcome back, autumn. We are now in my favorite segment. Hey. Easy Diz It. Where we read these one-star reviews to make your next trip at five star. Trip.

And yeah, this week we are talking about Mickey’s very Merry Christmas party and yeah, I think I got, I got some good stuff here. It gets some good reviews. Let’s just say bad reviews because these people did not have a good time. They did not. And this is, this is a [00:45:00] good strategy. I think with anytime you’re reading reviews to look at one star reviews. Because you’ll find truth there. The person posting, it may have been misinformed or the person posing, it might just be angry about something, but there is valuable truth when you’re, even if you’re just buying a new TV because you’ll be flooded with these five star reviews from people who just got the TV and say, it’s excellent.

But some of the one-star reviews are from people who have had the TV for a month and it craps out. So, so yeah. Read your one-star reviews either way. Yeah. Read with a grain of salt, don’t let them ruin your your expectations completely.

Autumn: Yeah. Same thing with five stars. For most things, most people are going to be somewhere in between a one and a five.

Justin: Yeah, this is true. All right. So for the first one, Paid this is from Bailey. They went and December, 2022. Paid for tickets to the park, but asked to leave at 6:00 PM due to a special Christmas event. If you want it to stay, it would be another [00:46:00] $200 each. Think Disney needs to advertise this better and reduce the day entry. I have been to Disney six times, but this is my last very disappointed.

Autumn: Oh, wow. So this is interesting one because this is, I feel like oftentimes when it’s this, if someone not knowing something that’s happening it’s a new person, but this is interesting. So this is someone that’s been to Disney, a decent number of times. Yep. And I do. I feel really awful because that’s goddess SAC. To especially if they take it. And it’s expensive. So doing Louie you’re like planning to be there all day. Yeah. And then finding out that it’s, you don’t get the whole day and you don’t get into the nights,

Justin: especially if they showed up at like two o’clock or something or three o’clock.

Autumn: Yeah. Yeah. I mean that’s easily at least four hours. Yeah. Less. Less than you anticipated. So

Justin: that’s why we bring it up here. If you’re going around and this applies to the holiday parties. The, the Halloween parties too. So if you’re going anytime from August to [00:47:00] December, Check the calendar, the dates are posted the Park’s closed early to regular ticketed guests during those days. So don’t, don’t let that happen to you. I’ll say it again. Check the calendar. So, for

Autumn: example, just so we’re cementing this in the last segment, we talked about this new jolly wood event that’s happening on Hollywood studios. We talked about Mickey’s very Merry Christmas or yes, very made Christmas that’s happening. All the days that, that those are happening in the parks, the park is closing early. So you want to just have a regular day in the park. Normally the Park’s open and you could be there from like 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Right? He can’t, it’s going to be like, They’re very cool events, but please know that if you’re planning a regular day on those events is a shorter day, unless you also plan to purchase the tickets. And the tickets of course are about the cost of the day. Tana park. Yeah. So,

Justin: so that a hundred percent, and it is a great way for Disney to, you know, to sell tickets to the same park twice in one day. But I will [00:48:00] also say that I don’t want this to dissuade you the Easy Diz It listener from going to the parks on these days. Because if you get there in the morning, A lot of people have robe jobs. Do rope drop. These days are the best, even though the part you have to leave at six. If you weren’t heart set on fireworks this day, this is by far the best day to go to the parks in terms of crowd levels. No,

Autumn: one’s there. There’s more less people

Justin: on the bike will walk on to rides all day. I and I’m. And especially because in, you know, We’re talking about the holidays, the Halloween parties and September. Like we’re talking crowd level one and two. ’cause a

Autumn: lot of people are like, ah, I don’t want to go on a shortened day. So I’m either not going to go or. Going just to the night party.

Justin: Exactly. Exactly. Exactly. So it’s actually a really good strategy. If you don’t mind. You know, getting up early and you could ride everything in the magic kingdom. I think. Yeah.

Autumn: I’m going to, I’m going to just [00:49:00] kind of nice too, because it led kind of let you out early so that like, yes, the park is enticing and it might be hard to say, well, I’m going to leave the park and it was open till 10, but it’s like, you have to leave and then you can also go do other things, you know, what. I mean, you could go to go to eat. You go to Disney Springs. You could go to another park. Yep. So it lets you still have enough of the evening to go try something

Justin: else. Exactly. But I’d love for this to be your choice. Not something that you didn’t know about now.

Autumn: This is awful. Like, I feel that’s badly if I didn’t know that that that’s, you know, and this person just, just didn’t know. Again, this is where I think, again, talking to someone that knows Disney, you’re talking to reaching out to us, talking to Justin. Who’s a travel planner, because there is so much booking and planning that unless you are really into Disney or have done it awhile, it is, it would be easy even to miss this. Like, I would likely miss this now. I wouldn’t quite equate that. Like, This event means that the parks, I hope

Justin: they have signs. I hope they have signs when you enter. You [00:50:00] know, Christmas party today park closes at six. I’d like to think they do, but I don’t.

Autumn: If you’ve been curious because, because w something that has been consistent. Is it consistent, maybe negative or improvement that that’s showing up in a lot of these reviews. Justin is that oftentimes when there’s changes, it’s like, I didn’t know. I don’t think they do a great job. Letting people know in all the ways, you know, or the ways that most people would discover. They’re better at letting people know who already kind of know what the system is. Or if you’re a travel planner, but, but consistently I think in these, the area of growth we might suggest for Disney is. Better promote. I mean there, the changes.

Justin: Yeah. I mean, I’ll read this one too from Fiona. It’s very similar. Same timeframe. Very disappointed that our post that after postponing our Christmas visit to Florida from three years ago, we eventually arrived a few days ago and our first visit to magic kingdom. We had to leave the park at 6:00 PM. [00:51:00] If we wanted to stay in, we would have to have to pay a further $200 per person to stay in until 10:00 PM. So the, and I’m only it’s, she’s upset and I’m not saying these things to be critical of her because it’s not her job to know all these things, but I do want to just let our listeners know. A little bit more about how this actually works. So she is right. She would have in for her family of five, that’s another thousand dollars to finish your day. That’s crazy. No. That’s crazy.

Autumn: That’s a train ticket down. Yeah.

Justin: So if you decide not to go during the day and you just want to buy. Paths to this hard ticket event they’re called hard ticketed events. It would cost between 169 and $200 depending on the day. Person. Per person closer, you get to Christmas, the price goes up. The weekends are more expensive than the weekdays. And. You can actually enter the park at 4:00 PM. Hmm. So you don’t have to wait to the party to start. You can actually get in the park at 4:00 PM. And [00:52:00] this year it’s. It ends at midnight. So you actually getting eight hours in the park for this ticket price.

Autumn: Because I bet you, a lot of people don’t know that you could go into hours before the event

Justin: starts. That’s why I want people to know. I want the listeners to the

Autumn: easydizitpodcast@gmail.com. Where’s that advertised?

Justin: It is it’s on their website and it’s not like a headline, but it’s on their website. On the web.

Autumn: So if you really scowl and read fine print. But if you, if this, again, people that have bought Disney tickets multiple times, this person has been to Disney six times. Yeah.

You might not know, but that’s awesome. Yeah. So basically you’re kind of getting a full day. You’re getting a full day. So you’re exchanging, I would definitely say it’s expensive. I mean, if you can sure. Go all day and all night, but you’re picking either like a day trip to the park for most folks they think, or the evening event. Yep. But yeah, you’re getting eight hours in the parks and know that on those event days is this for every event just, and you can get into hours before the event starts. Yeah.

Justin: So it’s four o’clock on most days. Double-check double-check [00:53:00] cause it will say when you go to purchase these tickets, it’ll tell you. Double-check the, the terms and conditions. But yeah, it’s generally this year, it’s four o’clock. So that’s a pretty sweet deal. I mean, After, when the party starts, everything, you’re getting more. You’re, there’s two parades. There’s the same prey, but your two chances to watch the parade. Excellent. It’s the, their special Christmas parade, which you can see during the day. The lead up To Christmas, you know, but in December, it’s not every day that this is available. It’s a special thing. There’s special castle shows. And because it’s a limited ticket event and because there, all these shows are going on. The the lines for the attractions are, are typically much lower. It’s not walk on everything. But it’s much lower and you got hot cocoa and cookies for free, which is nice. That’s awesome. Not for free. I mean, you’re paying $200 for the unlimited.

Autumn: Hi, John. Cookies. Eat. They better be good. They better be Gideons. Yeah.

But that’s thank you for that. I didn’t know that. I didn’t know that.[00:54:00]

Justin: He has a bit of a spoiler here, but, you know, during the parades it’s snows on main street. So if you want to see snow for Christmas and you’re not from a place where there’s snow for Christmas, that’s probably pretty

Autumn: cool. And it does have to be really cool if you don’t get to know where new England is. So. Yeah, no, I will say it will be nice because it will be weird to like, have it be warm, like to be somebody, this one that this will be now, the second time I’ve been in Florida. And Christmas and it just, it doesn’t feel Christmas Eaton. And what is this? Yeah. So, no, thanks. The climate change is getting increasingly more, more, and in the last several Christmas weeks, I would have been like 60 degrees up here. Yeah. Yeah.

Justin: So it’s a, it’s a different experience. It’s a unique experience. That’s why they’re charging the money. That’s why people pay extra for it. You get to see Mickey and Minnie and their Christmas gear, you get to experience these parades. And this shows, the castle shows that you can only see during that time.

Autumn: Evening in the park is really beautiful. I’m going to say probably really [00:55:00] specific to magic kingdom. Not only is it less crowded? Not only is it cooler, but it’s really beautiful visually, I think so much better at night than. During the day I would go, if I could just go to magic kingdom at night, I would prefer to, I

Justin: couldn’t agree with you more. It is a magical place. Yes. Could not agree with you more. I could try, but I don’t think I could. All right. Maximum agreement right now.

Autumn: Wow. So, sorry, I’m in this moment, I’m taking it

Justin: in as cool as it sounds. We’re going to skip this when we get, well, we can’t do it anyway, but we’re going to skip magic kingdom altogether. When we go, we’re going to check out animal kingdom.

Autumn: Yeah. Awesome. We’re going to spend a lot of time in invoking. And I think Disney Springs and you know, there was the white hat probably.

Justin: So Santa Claus, that’s another thing you can see at Mickey’s very Merry Christmas party. Yes. But you can also run into him at Disney Springs. He’s there. They have the. A virtual queue reservation system, which is nice. But what I’m really excited about autumn. I told you about this. Which thing. So after Christmas [00:56:00] Santa can’t be there anymore. He’s not in Disney Springs anymore. I guess it doesn’t make sense for him to be after Christmas, which is when we’re going to be there primarily. But, you know, who takes this place?

Autumn: I’m gonna let you announce it. Goofy clause.

Justin: So there isn’t anyone. I think I’d be more excited to meet than goofy Claus.

Autumn: But wait. So when are they doing goofy Claus until

Justin: it’s the week between Christmas and new years.

Autumn: Oh, okay. So they still want to be in holiday mode. People are still they’re celebrating Christmas. I. If he’s

Justin: got to take over. Santa needs a break. He goes on vacation. I think he goes to Hawaii. No. So I am. Actually, you know, where he goes, he goes to blizzard beach. Did you go to blizzard beach during the holiday season? You can see Santa Claus in his shorts, riding a bike, get out.

Autumn: Yeah. That’s funny. Yeah. That’s funny. So, yeah. Photos of Santa, if you didn’t know. That’s pretty cool. That’s something you can’t do. And Disney, which I was thinking is our daughter’s really been asking now for like several [00:57:00] months. And we’ve explained the process to her to get her ears pierced. Oh, gosh, we’re going to be there for Christmas. Yeah. How more magic. Well, you know, But you can’t be more magical than getting your ears pierced in Disney, but you can’t. You get your haircut, but you can’t get your experience. Yeah. They closed.

Justin: That they do that. They closed the Claire’s. That was next to the Emporium on main street. Oh, there was a clear, no, no, I must.

Autumn: So I think that like, even with, as a part of bippity boppity, that that could be an add-on like going to Disney world to get, to be all princess stuff, which by the way, I feel like Jess and I were just saying. Our daughter is very much into. Yeah, she’s very. There’s a very feminine taste and really loves Dressing up. She does. So while I had always thought that I would completely bypass the bippity boppity boutique.

Justin: I think she might going to have to freaking love that.

Autumn: Yeah. Just watching her experience. That will be priceless. Though. It’s very, so when

Justin: she’s five or six, we’ll probably hit that. [00:58:00] For a longer trip. And if she’s at the level of enjoying princesses in pink, that she is now. Yeah. We’ll consider it for sure. Yeah. All right, let me just read one more here. One more review here, just to talk. Cause there’s a couple of things here. This is, they had some experience with the Christmas party, but some broader things that come up again and again, this is actually a three-star review, not a one-star review and and yeah, just some classic Disney complaining language in here. The name of this review is I’m afraid. Mr. Disney. The magic has gone.

Autumn: That is classic. We hear that.

Justin: And everyone’s always talking to Mr. Disney, be prepared to be underwhelmed. Walt would turn in his grave. If he knew how disappointing the Disney experience has become. So the wall turning in his grave, it just happens so frequently. They could hook a generator up to this guy and that’s how they power. All of adventure land.

No Disney characters. If you want your children to meet them, be prepared to hunt and queue for at least 40 minutes each time. So this is somewhat true. The Disney [00:59:00] characters you do have to get in line to see them. You can use the genie plus lightning lanes to see them, or you can just use a touring plan to, to minimize your time in line. But most of the characters, you do have to wait in line to see they

Autumn: are scheduled to be in certain places at certain times that you know, that you can see. And they, of course there are walk around. Pop-ups.

Justin: Very rare though. Like if you like compared to like Disneyland or I think the way Disney world used to be 20 years ago very rare. There will you just see like Mickey walking down the street, it just doesn’t happen. Cause there’d be a mob. I’ve seen pu we, I think when we were there, poop popped up for a few minutes, you know? You’ll see. Yeah. Some of the con. The country bears. You know, Hopping around a little bit. Yeah. You’ll see them at the resorts. But it’s, don’t expect to like, in like in the commercials, like you’re not going to walk down the street and be like, oh, there’s Mickey mouse. It’s not going to happen. There’s goofy lies. Wise, Goofy’s mopping the floor over there.

Autumn: Right. It’s not going to happen. You see them, it will because they are planned to be at that place at that time.

Justin: Yup. Yup. Yup. Next one, the app is a [01:00:00] nightmare trying to book and plan your day. You end up spending more time trying to book rides. We’re actually spending time with your family. And if your party is split up to do other things, good luck. This is kind of true. So if your party does split up, you both need to be able to know how to use genie plus if you do use genie, plus you do have to be mindful not to spend too much time using genie plus. I’ve talked to.

Autumn: Go ahead. I was just going to say. This is also this, I think would be the second thing that is pretty redundant in the lower star reviews is like the amount of time. In addition to the like, not knowing about changes. Yeah, just the, the, the time to be on Genie+ learning the system and like, it takes away from the magic of just being present in the park.

Justin: Yep. I think there’s two ways genie plus is failing. Guests and causing a one star reviews. The first is that people didn’t know about genie plus, and they go most of the day and long lines and are angry that they didn’t know about gene plus, and that they could have gotten [01:01:00] the lightning lanes and that it costs money. And then the other one is actually for people who do know about genie plus but then they end up spending so much time using it and optimizing and, and and I’ve seen some Tik TOK videos, you know, about like the hero party planner. That gets everyone on the rides. And I think that the meme is kind of like the husband’s like, wow, we haven’t waited for a ride all day. We’re so lucky. And then it shows like the mom with Genie plus, and like, her name is lucky or something like that, you know? And I think that’s cool. And I think it’s, it’s, it’s one of the things I enjoy, but I’m afraid that if you equate using genie plus to having a good time, And focus so heavily on that. You’re going to miss so much. Yeah.

Autumn: and I almost think Justin, maybe we could do another episode on like, Ha like specifically, like how do you use it in a way so that you do. Minimize the time on your phone, like. That’s an awesome idea. It’s [01:02:00] own episode. Here’s how, if you want to use it. You can do so without staring down at a screen while yeah. I love it. Sharing

Justin: with your family. Our top performing episode is our genie plus strategy episode. So I think a new type of strategy that’s maybe a little bit more mindful about how to stay with everyone around you and less about just getting most rides. Least minutes. In line, correct? Yeah. I’ll take a look at that. I think that warrants and testing for sure. But yeah, I think that’s a great idea. All right. And then lastly this person here basher five, 10. The. The food outlets, give you a very little choice. You’re buggered. If you’re vegan, there’s very, there are vegan options at every food place now. But they can be not good.

Autumn: In the park in general, we’ll say this, the food in the park in general, it’s pretty like, yeah. Some par. At minus Epcot. And the resorts. Yeah. And especially if you have any like dietary [01:03:00] restrictions, I’m going to say just bypass the park. And just eat. When you’re on food or eat. Yeah.

Justin: I mean, if you haven’t. You can tell them if you have allergies and they will, you will, they will feed you. You will get fed. It’s just like they say here, you will have to wait in line. This person waited an hour for coffee. Oh, this sounds like Christmas.

Autumn: Yeah. This person went during the Scotty. Yeah. I mean, cause I got, I got coffee and caffeine several times just as a pop-up Joffries it was never more than five people.

Justin: All right. And then this last paragraph, this person also gets into Mickey’s very Merry Christmas. So Mickey’s very Merry Christmas party is an absolute rip off. To not be sucked into buying these events. They are so oversubscribed to the point that you can barely get around the park, extra extortionately priced. And as far as I can tell, the only difference was a comparative bauble. He does the comparative bubble. Yup. Comparative bottle bobble. And some hot chocolate and cookies. Yeah. So that’s we, I mean, we already talked about some.

Autumn: We’ll say [01:04:00] right? It’s like you, you can go on. It’s not like it’s just an event in no rides. It’s basically the park opening in the night that the parade. Two parades.

Justin: So different shows opportunities to meet characters that you can’t typically meet. There’s much more to it than this person it’s indicating. Yeah. Okay, but I think what’s good to include here is that some people don’t think it’s a good value and I don’t think they’re necessarily wrong.

Autumn: Especially if that’s not for you, if you don’t like parades and you don’t want to, like, you don’t need to meet certain character, if you hate

Justin: Christmas. If your name is Ebeneezer, Scrooge pre, like before the ghosts intervened, they probably shouldn’t shell out $200.

Autumn: Yeah, I know. I get that. I think it’s nice. I think with the prison saying he’s like for the amount of money. You’re not necessarily experiencing more things in quantity. Then you are, if you were to go during the day, it’s just that’s right. And I do think that’s true.

Justin: But my advice to this person having expressed it like that would be for him not to buy a ticket and therefore [01:05:00] decrease the surplus population. At Mickey’s very Merry Christmas

Autumn: party. Hopefully. In the future.

Justin: All right. That’s all I got to say about this Mickey’s very Merry Christmas party.

Autumn: So like in a, yeah, I think in a nutshell it’s if you are.

Planning to go around the holiday time. Mate, do you think it’s worth it to certainly talk to somebody who’s been and done it before? Sure. I really just use a travel planner, because again, you are, you’re paying for it, whether you want to, or not in the price of it, if a Disney ticket. It covers the price of a travel planner. Because there’s so many things and dates, and I think that can be really helpful and it can be easy because planning a Disney trip is so overwhelming, but it’s so important so that you are more comfortable and less stressed and doing less things when you’re at the park. Yeah, that it’s worth it to do

Justin: this. That’s the. The point at a time I can help. And I do use calendars. Don’t even worry about.

All right, autumn. So that ties up the episode. That’s it for Easy Diz It, [01:06:00] episode 72.

Autumn: I think that sounds good. And I’m really excited about thinking and talking about ways to do genie plus in a way where you reducing screen time. Love it.

That’s

Justin: going to be our next episode and stay tuned for that. That that’ll be an episode at some point for sure. All right, stay too.

Autumn: All right. bye everyone
